Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
Invoice Studio is operated by Vikta (sole trader, Sydney, Australia) — "we", "us" or "our". This policy explains what information we collect when you use Invoice Studio on the web at invoicestudio.com.au or through our iOS app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and email shared by that provider. We never see your password for those providers.
Your business content. The information you enter to create invoices: your business details (name, ABN, address, banking details for display on invoices), client details, line items, invoice history, and any logo you upload. This content belongs to you — we store it only so the app works and syncs across your devices.
Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro on the web, payment is processed by Stripe; in the iOS app, payment is processed by Apple. We never receive or store your card number. We keep only your subscription status and identifiers needed to manage your plan.
Usage and technical data. Basic counters (such as how many invoices you've created), and standard server logs including IP address and browser type, kept for security and to keep the service running reliably.
Signing in with Google or Apple
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only basic profile information from that provider — your name, email address and profile picture — to create and identify your account. We don't receive your contacts, files or anything else from those accounts.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The AI Assistant
When you use the AI Assistant, the text you type and the current invoice details are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the result, and a copy of the request is kept in our logs for security, support and quality purposes. The assistant is there to fill in your invoice — please don't type sensitive personal information into it that isn't needed on the invoice.
How we use your information
- To provide Invoice Studio: creating, saving and syncing your invoices across devices
- To manage your subscription and free-plan limits
- To send essential service emails (such as password resets and invoice delivery you request)
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems
- To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying usage information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
Marketing emails
Today we only send essential service emails. If we ever send product news or marketing, every such email will include an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out anytime by emailing us. Opting out of marketing never affects essential service emails like password resets.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Invoice Studio, each receiving only what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — account sign-in and database storage
- Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions
- Apple — payment processing for subscriptions purchased in the iOS app
- Anthropic — AI processing for the AI Assistant
- Cloudinary — storage of logo images you upload
- Resend — delivery of service and invoice emails
- Hostinger — server hosting
Some of these providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States). We may also disclose information if required by law.
Storage, security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and protected with access controls. We keep your information while your account is active. Server logs are rotated and kept only for a short period.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (account panel → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, business details, clients, invoice history and uploaded logo, and cancels a web (Stripe) subscription. If you subscribed through the iOS app, also cancel the subscription in your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions — Apple manages those subscriptions and we cannot cancel them on your behalf.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or complain about how we've handled it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond promptly. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
If you're outside Australia
Wherever you are, we extend the same core rights to you: you can request access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to how we process it — just email us. If you're in the European Union, United Kingdom or New Zealand, these align with your rights under local data protection law, and you may also complain to your local supervisory authority. If you're a resident of California or another US state with privacy legislation, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (described above), to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by those laws.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to save your work in progress on your device. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and because we don't track you across other sites, we don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals — there's nothing to turn off.
Children
Invoice Studio is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of Invoice Studio after a change means you accept the updated policy.
